HootSuite’s revenues grow by 300 per cent

Social media management platform HootSuite Media Inc. is reporting record growth of 300 per cent in the second quarter of 2013, compared to the same period last year, and has now surpassed 300 employees.

Home to a dashboard that monitors activity on social networks like Facebook and Twitter, B.C.-based HootSuite reached more than 7 million users this year. Among them were the National Hockey League, Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., and Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc.

HootSuite also added several foreign companies to its roster of clients this quarter, with 15 fully translated dashboard languages including Russian and Thai. And thanks to integrating with Chinese social media networks like Sina Weibo, Tencent Weibo and Renren Inc., it attracted Chinese enterprise customers as well.

In May, HootSuite launched a Security Services feature that allows companies to prepare for possible hackings of their social media accounts in advance. The company also added 14 more apps to its App Directory, like HootSuite Syndicator and SurveyMonkey. It now has 56 apps under its brand.

While HootSuite shared its revenue growth in terms of year over year percentage, it isn’t sharing the dollar amounts of its revenue.  It also added another 164 solution partners in the second quarter, for a total of more than 1,500.
