It’s 6 o’clock, do you know where your tweets are?

You might read a tweet in about one second, but often the scribe that crafted that perfect 140-character gem has spent much more time writing it. With so much effort going into one post, how can you get bang for your buck – or put more aptly, the most clicks for your tweet?

Well Neil Patel’s QuickSprout blog has produced an infographic that helps to answer that question, and similar ones for other social media networks. If you’re already using a scheduler to time your tweets, then this is information you might want to take into account when you’re doing that. If you don’t use a scheduler, this data will probably convince you it’s worth your time.

Highlights of the infographic include:

  • The best time to post on Facebook is on Thursday or Friday, and at 1 PM if you’re looking for shares, or at 3 PM if you just want clicks.
  • Twitter works differently depending on whether you have a B2B or a B2C audience. B2B audiences will engage the most on weekdays, while consumer audiences will engage more on the weekends, with a hump day anomaly on Wednesday. If you want a good click-through-rate on that link in your tweet, send it at noon or at 6 PM.
  • On LinkedIn, the same trend for B2B users is true with weekday posts getting the most traction. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are the best bets for engagement and the best hour of the week to post on LinkedIn? Tuesday between 10 AM – 11 AM.
