Novell announces the availability of Sentinel 6
Novell announced that its real-time security event management product, Sentinel 6 from Novell, is generally available worldwide.

An upgrade to the previous generation product, Sentinel 6 from Novell incorporates features such as: 

  • A simplified event source management framework
  • Workflow management and remediation tracking
  • A correlation engine
  • Integration with Novell’s identity management solutions, Novell Identity Manager and Novell Access Manager

Sentinel 6 from Novell is an enterprise-class software application that automates the process of gathering, analyzing, correlating and reporting on security and compliance data to help customers identify and respond to security incidents and policy compliance violations. It delivers an integrated view of security and compliance events across the entire enterprise. When a network breach or out-of-state policy violation occurs, the built-in remediation workflow allows IT administrators to immediately take action based on preset roles, regulatory requirements and business policies and creates a system of record for attesting to external government regulations and supporting internal audit requirements.

Keyboard Manic launches KeyMan v.4.26

Keyboard Maniac announces the release of version 4.26 of Keyboard Maniac (KeyMan), an application for Windows OS managing all hotkeys on your computer. KeyMan allows you to control various multimedia and Microsoft Office applications with keystrokes. The program also enables users to record keyboard macros and to perform them on default or personally stipulated conditions.

KeyMan allows you to control multimedia applications by using convenient keyboard shortcuts and dedicated multimedia keys on various keyboards, including non-standard multimedia-extended ones. Keyboard Maniac also lets you to use a wireless keyboard if at hand as a remote control for watching movies.

You can insert and format a complex table in Excel with a single key press. You can even setup that key to work in the same way in a number of different products, such as Microsoft Excel and OpenOffice Calc. Keyboard Maniac allows you to control applications not only with the help of a keyboard or a mouse, but also a joystick, steering wheel and any other HID.

Keyboard Maniac 4.26 runs under Windows 2000/XP/VISTA and costs US$19.95 for a single-user licence. Multi-user licences are available at progressive volume discounts. Licensed customers are entitled to free upgrades for three months from the date of purchase, technical support.
