Lenel integrates Bioscrypt VeriSoft Access Manager into IdentityDefender and OnGuard 2006
Bioscrypt Inc. announced that global security systems firm Lenel has integrated Bioscrypt VeriSoft Access Manager into the IdentityDefender and OnGuard 2006 solutions by Lenel.

Privately labelled by Lenel as IdentityEnforcer, the VeriSoft Access Manager application is one of five modules that comprise IdentityDefender, an end-to-end solution for issuing secure identity credentials (cards) to individuals using a trusted process. IdentityEnforcer is a logical access application that enables a credential holder to log on to a computer using a finger-scan, card or both.

VeriSoft Access Manager has also been integrated into the OnGuard Total Security Knowledge Management Solution. Upon issuance of a credential, OnGuard manages the life cycles of both the cards and biometric data. VeriSoft leverages OnGuard’s management capabilities to enable credentials to be used for logical access via Windows logon and single sign-on, and for physical access verification using access control readers at facility entry points.

Breece Hill’s BizGuardian backup and recovery appliance now shipping
Breece Hill announced that its all-in-one BizGuardian backup and recovery appliance has begun volume shipments to SMBs and departments of larger organizations.

BizGuardian is a disk-to-disk-to-tape appliance, providing a pre-configured backup and recovery solution. The system scans the network to discover new desktops, notebooks, or servers, then backs them up to disk without the need for manual intervention. Backup operations are automatically adjusted to ensure all computers get protected, and AES-encrypted tapes are created for safe offsite storage. Users can perform restores of their files themselves without needing to involve IT personnel.

The new solution integrates the benefits of EMC Retrospect backup and recovery software.
