Nothing has changed on one front – data remains an enormously important global asset.
But a lot is changing in terms of how organizations think about the data they own. Looking back over the last 30 years, the story of data has many chapters as organizations wrestle with how to create, store, access, protect, manage, and keep data private. Regardless of the focus on this important organizational asset, some challenges still remain. The traditional approach to delivering new technology has resulted in increasingly complex data silos, skyrocketing development costs, and growing risks to data privacy. The question is, will the story have a happy ending? Maybe….. and the chapter is called ‘Data Collaboration’.
So what is that and what’s in it for me you ask?
Collaboration platforms are taking over the organization. Calendars, messaging, email—everyone’s collaborating in new and more streamlined ways.

It will also help organizations work together to address the common good. This is the most exciting for me. Having spent the last year working on a G7 initiative to tackle important global issues, this innovative way to exchange knowledge will open up a whole new way of tackling the very real problems of our generation – climate change, sustainable infrastructure, and even diversity-related issues.
