One of the awards included an Award of Excellence in Electronic and Interactive Communications
for an Ultimate Peanut Butter Sandwich Recipe Contest developed for Peanut Bureau of Canada. Apex’s high-tech clients include Adobe and Tech Data Canada.
The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Ovation awards recognize outstanding efforts in strategic communications.
Maverick Public Relations
Martha Darcy, who worked on the Symantec Canada account, has left the firm for another opportunity.
Elizabeth Mota, meanwhile, formerly of National Public Relations and Optimum, has joined the firm. She will be working on the Sun Microsystems account (formerly a National account), as well as public relations for IT reseller The Ram Group and document solutions vendor Xenos. Ketchum Public Relations
Alyssa Oliveri has left the firm, where she worked on the IBM Canada account. She has referred all IBM inquiries to Jennifer Goodman for anything IBM-related ([email protected]). Oliveri said she would be “”continuing to work on PeopleSoft”” for another location. Maverick owns the PeopleSoft Canada account.

Matthew Broder has been appointed to the position of vice-president, external
Communications, the firm said. In this role, Broder will drive business and growth objectives by developing and executing an integrated, global public relations strategy that promotes Pitney Bowes industry leadership, while articulating Pitney Bowes unique ability to help businesses of all sizes reduce costs, improve effectiveness and enhance customer relationships. Broder comes to Pitney Bowes from a communications role at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation.
