ATLANTA — PeopleSoft is moving into the mid-market.
According to Craig Conway, PeopleSoft Inc.’s president and CEO, the mid-market is the company’s fastest growing segment as it represents 25 per cent of its total installed base. More than 1,000 of PeopleSoft’s existing customers are in the mid-market, said Conway.
“We’d like PeopleSoft to become the standard for the mid-market as it’s become the standard for enterprises,” said Conway at this year’s PeopleSoft Connect conference.
As part of its move to the mid-market, PeopleSoft announced four new Accelerated eBusiness Solutions, all modular and focused on customer relationship management (CRM) and supply chain management (SCM). According to PeopleSoft, providing the solutions in a modular way will enable the small to medium-sized companies to purchase only what they need, when they need it.
The CRM solution includes PeopleSoft Accelerated Support and Accelerated Sales and Marketing, while the SCM solution consists of Accelerated Distribution and Accelerated Procurement.
“The plan is coming together product-wise,” said Phil Wilmington, executive vice-president, North Americas operations and global strategic alliances for PeopleSoft. “It will allow small and mid-sized companies to up sell and retain their customers.”
An additional component to PeopleSoft’s mid-market push, particularly for customers participating in the Accelerated eBusiness Solutions program, which was designed for business ranging from start-ups to organizations with US$500 million in annual revenue, is the launch of the Accelerated Alliance Program. Through this program PeopleSoft will make its automated implementation tools available to selected system integrators, which include PricewaterhouseCoopers, TSC, Crestone International and Beacon Application Services.
