Mobile payments catching on with Canadians, Google says [infographic]

One in three Canadians have already used their mobile device to buy something, Google Inc. says, and the evidence indicates mobile payments aren’t abating in popularity anytime soon.

In the below infographic, prepared by consumer insights division Think With Google, the search giant outlines not only how popular mobile payments are with Canadians, but why, noting that more than half of smartphone owners are interested in paying with their mobile devices so they no longer need to carry credit cards or cash, and how Canadian businesses can accommodate them.
