Meta IT positions itself globally as a partner of the Collision Conference in North America

Company establishes partnership with Collision Conference and positions itself globally with projects such as Meta League and Meta Ventures

Meta IT, a technology and innovation company focused on digital transformation, will be present for the first time at the Collision Conference, to be held June 20-23 in Toronto. The largest technology and innovation event in North America, also known as the Olympics of Tech, will bring together 35,000 people and more than 400 speakers to discuss the latest trends in technology, the future of work and business strategies.

For Meta IT, this is an opportunity to present the projects involving its headquarters located in the Waterloo, Ont. area, as well as Meta League, a talent development program, and Meta Ventures, the company’s Corporate Venture Capital.

Since opening its office in Canada in 2020, Meta has been steadily growing its business in North America and worldwide. By the end of last year, the company already had 21 clients in the region and employed over 70 people, with a focus on increasing it to 150 employees by 2022. Meta’s current clients include Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, ArcelorMittal, Volvo Canada, Kraft Heinz, and Air Liquide.

“Even though we started the process of internationalizing the company during the pandemic, Meta has been growing exponentially in North America. It’s amazing to see our results and how our company’s presence is being increasingly consolidated.

“Our intention is to accelerate the business expansion by connecting to the technology ecosystem in Canada and the United States. We seek to simplify digital transformation and promote human growth with technology,” explains Marcos Machado, Meta’s International Director of Business and Alliances.

To reinforce the company’s consolidation process, Meta has been expanding its acceleration program for students and professionals who are starting or redesigning their careers in the tech field. The program is carried out through partnerships with high schools, universities, and education startups located in Latin America, as well as institutions focused on the training and employability of students and professionals in vulnerable situations.

The goal of the program is to accelerate the development of professionals, who start working on internal Meta IT projects and are closely monitored during their first two years at the company. Launched at the first semester of 2021, it already has more than 100 students and professionals involved. One highlight of the project is the diversity of its participants, with men and women aged 16 to 71, from all Brazilian regions, including students from abroad and refugees.

“Our plan is to identify Meta IT customers and projects where these new profiles can be trained and accelerated to work in the demanding North American market. This is a way to disseminate the company’s culture globally, and, starting from the base of technical trajectories, build the future leadership,” explains Claudio Carrara, VP at Meta.

Another highlight will be the participation of Meta Ventures, the Corporate Venture Capital of Meta IT. It annually holds the Bring Your SaaS challenge, a startup competition that aims to identify and recognize promising businesses with high growth potential and synergy with the company’s businesses and customers. Based on this project, Meta Ventures has already made investments in two startups, Dialog and Manfing, as well as other investments in Netrin, Ayga, Conecta Lá and 4MDG.

“Taking our CVC to Collision meets our company’s purpose to simplify the digital transformation journey of customers and propose innovative technology solutions,” said Head of Meta Ventures Marcio Flôres. “Meta Ventures was born with the intention of promoting an innovation ecosystem that connects startups, investors and the entire entrepreneurship front with society. With our market booming in Canada, we understand that this is an excellent opportunity to internationalize our investments and offer our clients disruptive solutions.”
