PCL Construction recognized for Digital Transformation Excellence

Edmonton, Alberta (August 15, 2018) – The PCL family of companies is honored to be the co-recipient of the 2018 ITWC Digital Transformation Award in the Large Private Sector category.

The award recognizes PCL for its significant and continued digital transformation over the past several years. By transforming its infrastructure, applications, and services to a modern digital-based cloud platform, its data center was decommissioned. Mobility, Data Analytics, and Enterprise-class integration rounded out the four strategic pillars of PCL’s initial digital transformation strategy.

“PCL’s strategic digital pillars created the foundation for our continued digital transformation,” said Mark Bryant, chief information officer, PCL Construction. “Our team executed a strategy to integrate significant cultural, technology, and business operating model changes. We wanted to enhance our time to market, reduce cost, enhance safety, and drive lean construction practices and greater productivity by refocusing technology to make a significant impact for our employees, at the workface of our jobsites.”

The Digital Transformation Awards is a national program that recognizes the best examples of business or organizational digital transformation in Canada. Award winners were announced at the 2018 Digital Transformation Conference on August 14 in Toronto.

This is the second award that PCL has won this year for its digital transformation. Earlier this year, PCL was an award winner at the 2018 Vision to Reality (V2R) Awards.
