Channel Innovation Awards showcase channel change-makers and disruptors

TORONTO (September 24, 2019) Seventeen organizations from across Canada were recognized this evening for creating innovative IT solutions and services that help organizations thrive.

The 2019 CDN Channel Innovation Awards (CIA) celebrated projects ranging from a public safety data portal that improves efficiency and transparency, to a program that takes IT assets that are no longer needed by one company and turns them into good-as-new technology for others.

“The Channel is changing incredibly fast, and only the companies that stay innovative will survive. By showcasing and celebrating the most original solutions in the country, we are hoping to inspire other companies to up their game,” said ITWC President & CMO Fawn Annan.

The coveted Solution Provider of the Year award went to information management business solutions provider Shinydocs. The Kitchener, Ont.-based company, which is partnered with some of the largest companies in the world, also took home a diamond award in the Top Data Management Solution category.

For the second year in a row, Toronto-based cloud migration and business agility experts Tidal Migrations won in the Next Generation Channel Innovator category. SmartONE Solutions Inc., a company committed to advancing the digital living experience in communities through connected services, won the Disruptor of the Year award.

In addition to the awards, the gala included a workshop by tech analyst IDC Canada, a live innovation podcast led by thought leader Valarie Fox, and plenty of networking. More than 200 people attended the event in Vaughan.

Event sponsors included: Ingram Micro, Dell Technologies, ViewSonic, Centreon, Samsung, and VMware.
