#FollowFriday – 3 analysts in wearables, social media, and mobile payments

Every Follow Friday, we round up a list of people with active Twitter accounts, ones that we feel are worth a click on the ‘follow’ button.

This week, we’re focusing on analysts who have provided comments and expert opinions on the latest trends in tech, helping us make sense of how tech and business are aligned.

Krista Napier, analyst for IDC Canada in mobility and consumer tech.

As an analyst covering mobility, one of the biggest topics Napier has been covering lately has been wearable technology. With wearables becoming some of the most talked-about mobile devices right now, especially when there are a slew of applications for them, like health, fitness, security, and so on.

Head on over here to read Napier’s thoughts on the new Apple Watch.

Paul Briggs, analyst at eMarketer for Canada

While most analysts cover a specific topic, Briggs is actually responsible for a region. In his case, the eMarketer analyst studies trends and does research on tech within Canada. Most recently, we spoke to Briggs about social media trends in Canada – particularly the trend that shows Canadians as some of the biggest Twitter users.

Briggs tends to tweet about digital marketing, social media use in Canada and the U.S., online banking, and the Internet of Things, as well as other shifts in digital tech.

Christie Christelis, analyst at TSI Globalnet

As an analyst who primarily focuses on mobile payments, Christelis tends to tweet on finance and commerce. However, he also tweets about retailers and how they can offer omni-channel experiences to consumers – for example, how they can offer payments through their online stores, their brick and mortar locations, and through mobile.

Plus, check out his thoughts on Visa Checkout, the payment processor’s latest efforts in e-commerce and mobile payments.
