Box appoints Canadian leader whose focus will be government and enterprise

Box Inc.’s ongoing international expansion continues with the addition of former Salesforce executive Adam Drew, who is now the cloud content management firm’s new vice-president for Canada.

With an emphasis on enterprise and government customers, Drew will be tasked with building the Canadian business, which according to Stephanie Carullo, chief operating officer at Box, has been experiencing a “fast-growth trajectory.” Box already serves Canadian customers from an office in downtown Toronto and through smaller teams across the country.

“We’ve appointed a Canadian leader to help us capture the market as more and more enterprises look to become digital workplaces,” said Carullo in a press release. “Adam is an experienced executive, and I’m thrilled he’s joined us to help maximize our opportunity in an exciting new country for Box.”

Cloud content management sits at the heart of digital transformation, something Canadian enterprise are constantly trying to refine and modernize, said Drew.

“Box’s robust enterprise-grade capabilities, combined with its new Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning offerings, make it an incredibly attractive solution for Canadian companies looking to become truly digital,” he said. “I couldn’t be happier to join at this exciting time.”

Drew has more than two decades of experience in leadership roles across tech companies such as Salesforce, Oracle, and Computer Associates Inc. Prior to joining Box, Drew was the regional vice-president at Salesforce for two-and-a-half years, where he ran enterprise sales in central Canada.
