League appoints ex-Deloitte exec Kim Tabac as chief people officer

League Inc., a digital employee health benefits platform, appointed ex-Deloitte executive Kim Tabac as its chief people officer.

An Oct. 18 press release said Tabac will draw on her 20 years of experience building teams, designing employee engagement strategies, and developing an inclusive work environment.

In the first six months of her role, she’ll focus on “scaling the League team in Canada and the U.S., chairing League’s Advisory Council and working with clients on their benefits strategy,” the release said.

League has helped businesses “bring the same kind of transparency and convenience to benefits that employees have come to expect in a modern consumer experience,” the release said. Some of its customers include Uber, Shopify, and Unilever.

“Wellbeing is an issue that is more relevant than ever to employees, in a talent marketplace that is more competitive than it has ever been,” Tabac said in the release.

Tabac was the partner and chief talent officer at Deloitte Canada from September 2016 to May 2018 where she redefined “the employment experience and making Deloitte the indisputable leader in attracting game-changing talent,” her LinkedIn profile said.

Prior to that she worked as the associate vice-president of human resources solutions at Canadian Tire from October 2013 to September 2016; the director of human resources at Baycrest from October 2007 to April 2009; the senior human resources consultant at CIBC from April 2002 to October 2007; and began her career as the human resources and operations manager at Hudson’s Bay Company from 1996 to 1998.
