The Trois-Rivières-based cloud technology company was acquired by AppDirect, which markets a business-to-business platform for cloud computing products by subscription.
AppDirect is headquartered in San Francisco and has an office in Montreal. According to a joint release, AppDirect is extending the presence of its AppSmart B2B platform to the Canadian market, connecting buyers with technology providers “to facilitate the sale, purchase and management of telecommunications, cloud computing and of business”.
For ITCloud.ca , this would be an opportunity to expand its existing business, as well as broaden its product portfolio, especially Microsoft products, “with access to over 600 software technology vendors on-demand and telecommunications via the AppSmart catalog”.
ITCloud.ca was founded in 2005 as a provider of managed cloud backup and data recovery services. It now distributes cloud computing products to 1,200 technology partners, who in turn serve thousands of businesses across Canada.
