Ten 10 high school cybersecurity teams from BC to New Brunswick will clash in an online cybersecurity battle on June 8th, 2020.
This year, ICTC’s CyberTitan Final will take place entirely online due to COVID-19, instead of being hosted in Ottawa as an all-day in-person competition.
After six months of cybersecurity training and competitions, the following 10 teams have beat out over 200 other Canadian teams to earn their spot at ICTC’s CyberTitan III National Finals:
- 404 – Thomas Haney Senior Secondary, BC
- Team Olympians Maroon – Old Scona Academic, AB
- Team Olympians Pink – Old Scona Academic, AB
- CA Prime – Sisler High School, MB
- DDR1 – Sisler High School, MB
- FalonTech King’s Guard – Centre Wellington District High School, ON
- Multiply and Surrender – William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute, ON
- 404: Team_not_found – William Lyon Mackenzie Collegiate Institute, ON
- Saints – St. Malachy’s Memorial High School, NB
- CyberDragons 1 – Nashwaaksis Middle School, NB.
Octopi Managed Services has created a “Hedge Fund 2020” simulation for the national finals this year, based on real-world financial cybersecurity demands.
According to the FBI Internet Crime Report, more than $3.5 billion was reported lost as the result of cybercrimes in 2019 alone. CyberTitan helps educate students on cybersecurity skills and inspires them to pursue a career in cybersecurity and STEM-related fields. CyberTitan’s affiliation with the U.S. CyberPatriot program culminates in a global virtual cyber defense competition, held once a month from October until February.
