A new conference bringing together municipal technology leaders in the Greater Toronto Region (GTA) will celebrate the power of information technology to transform both the public service and the citizen experience in the region.
Technicity GTA: Conversation, Collaboration & Common Ground is an exclusive half-day virtual event designed for municipal decision makers, private sector IT influencers, digital entrepreneurs and industry interested in the public sector space, and individual businesses interested in the changing face of digital government.
“Technicity GTA will explore the innovative digital strategies and tools used by the 25 Toronto area municipalities to drive efficiency, collaboration, and security internally while improving the way they interact with taxpayers, “says Fawn Annan, CEO of IT World Canada (ITWC), the producer of the show.
“We will be looking at shared challenges and how they are being tackled very differently by the large urban units and the smaller rural ones.”

The half-day virtual event will take place Dec. 9, 10 am – 1 pm on ITWC’s proprietary TECHNICITY-TV, a platform that allows for the seamless integration of live and pre-recorded material. The platform also features live chat capabilities and breakout rooms to facilitate networking opportunities that have been missing at conferences since the pandemic began in March.
“Municipalities offer the grassroots services that touch citizens most directly, and like most organizations, they were forced to up their digital game almost overnight, says ITWC CIO Jim Love. “In doing so, they have learned more about collaboration, creativity, and engagement in the last few months than in many of the previous years. I’m anxious to hear them share those stories.”
The Town Hall luncheon discussion wrapping up the conference will challenge the leaders in attendance to describe the path forward and the required partnerships to bring the promise of digital government at the local level to fruition.
There is no charge to qualified attendees thanks to corporate sponsorship, but pre-registration is mandatory to receive access to the platform, the session presentations, and the Town Hall discussion.
