TORONTO (October 21, 2019) – According to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business, Canadian employers had difficulty filling approximately 435,000 private-sector jobs during the first half of 2019 — a new quarterly high.

Globalization and the digital economy requires diverse talent and innovation, and skilled newcomers will play an important role in Canada’s success going forward.

The International Talent Acquisition Centre (In-TAC), an organization that provides a digital platform to connect new immigrants with Canadian employment opportunities, will host its seventh National Virtual Career Expo (VCE) on October 29th and 30th.

The In-TAC VCE is Canada’s largest online jobs fair, and is consistently growing each year. Over 9,000 job seekers registered for the last VCE, which was an increase of more than 2,000 from the previous VCE.

This year, VCE participants can expect to access more than 1,800 jobs, and network in more than 90 Canadian cities. Participants will be able to live-chat with hiring employers, expand their professional network, access hidden opportunities in smaller cities, and discover alternative career options.

Representatives of sector councils, occupational educators, and settlement service providers will be on hand to provide information regarding career trends, alternative options, and supporting programs.
