Introducing MapleSEC 2020: Canada’s newest, most hands-on cybersecurity conference

IT World Canada (ITWC)  and CIRA present Canada’s leading-edge cybersecurity conference October 5-7, 2020.

A new pan-Canadian cybersecurity conference is coming soon to a virtual venue near you, and it’s just in time to help internet users, businesses, and organizations across the country tackle the unique digital security challenges they face during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Delivered virtually, MapleSEC 2020 runs for three hours a day over three consecutive days beginning October 5th.  More than two dozen industry experts from the tech industry, academia, and other organizations will take to the digital stage, with content ranging from keynote addresses, research updates and practical skills workshops to moderated discussions, networking sessions, and expert panels.

“This is not a conference with back-to-back videos and no real opportunity for interaction,” says ITWC CIO Jim Love. “Delivered on our proprietary MAPLE-TV platform, the audience will be able to download assets, participate in live quizzes and use online meeting rooms to share their views in a choice of two daily moderated luncheon discussion.”

“We are happy to be partnering with the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) to deliver this conference,” added. Love. “For leaders looking to protect their organizations from growing cybersecurity threats, MapleSEC 2020 is the conference to attend.  Whether you’re interested in hands-on approaches to building a risk management culture or tested strategies for getting your board on board with cybersecurity initiatives, you’ll come away from MapleSEC with practical tools and valuable insights.”

Key conference takeaways will include:

“We are excited to help introduce MapleSEC to Canada,” says Byron Holland, President and CEO of CIRA. “Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, more of our daily lives have taken place online than ever before, which means that users and businesses have never been more vulnerable to cyberattacks. Cybersecurity and digital privacy are complex issues that no one organization can tackle alone., We hope MapleSEC can bring Canada’s best and brightest together and become the focal point for cybersecurity issues in Canada.’
