CDW takes big prize at Channel Innovation Awards

TORONTO – CDW Canada, a leading provider of technology solutions for business, government, education, and healthcare, was recognized at the Channel Innovation Awards (CIA) Conference today for capturing the No. 1 spot on CDN’s annual Top 100 Solution Provider ranking.

The Etobicoke, Ontario-based company topped last year’s Top 100 list after trading first and second place in ranking since 2016 with IT services giant Softchoice.

Second spot in this year’s Top 100 ranking went to Softchoice – hardly a newcomer to the big list. Since 2016, Softchoice and CDW Canada have consistently been in the first and second spots.

Rounding out the top five this year are Insight Canada at #3, Compugen at #4, and SoftwareONE Canada in the fifth spot.

Although the impacts of the global pandemic continue to be felt across the channel, a CDN/IDC Canada analysis of the data shows that channel players remain strong. A Benchmark report featuring a detailed analysis of the top 100 corporate submissions is now available on ChannelDailyNews.com.

While again this year the CIA conference was virtual, it is hoped that next year it will be a hybrid event.

“Our CDN-TV platform gives us the flexibility we need to make that happen,” said ITWC CEO Fawn Annan. “While there’s still a great deal of uncertainty, we’re cautiously optimistic that this event will be delivered in a hybrid format next year. It gives Canadians from coast to coast more of a chance to participate.”

Among the Channel Innovation award winners:

Data Management Master award: Esri Canada
New Normal Ninja award: Korem
C4 Diversity and Inclusion award: Benchmark
Emerging Tech Guru award: ATB Ventures
Remote Work and Collaborative Workspaces Wunderkind award: Corel Corporation
Innovator of the Year award: FlexITy

This year’s event was sponsored by Ingram Micro, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Acronis, HP, Samsung, ViewSonic, and VMWare.
