Will you find a golden iPhone?

The special edition of the BlackBerry Q10 comes in white and gold, with a price tag of about $1,000.

Apple fanboys, rejoice!

Apple Inc. is rumoured to be coming out with what we’ve all been waiting for – a golden iPhone.

Actually, I don’t know if anyone actually wants the iPhone 5 in a gold tone, but even if no one is really asking for one, Apple seems to be giving it to us now.

According to MG Siegler of TechCrunch, rumours are swirling about leaks of a golden iPhone. While it might seem like a huge departure from Apple’s traditional black or silver, gold would actually be relatively easy to anodize onto an iPhone.

The colour is also purported to be more of a “champagne” colour, more toned-down than a vivid gold, writes Siegler, so it has that going for it. And given that so many iPhone users trick out their devices with gold cases, Apple could just be performing an act of fanservice by giving the people what they want.

In other luxury phone news, BlackBerry also has a golden phone offering. However, this one isn’t just limited to changing the colour of the phone’s casing.

James Richardson of CrackBerry is reporting the Waterloo, Ont.-based smartphone maker has launched the Q10 in white and gold, called the special edition BlackBerry Q10. With a gold-coloured stainless steel frame, a gold-accented headset, and a leather sleeve, it could be yours for about $1,000 in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates.
