Microsoft announces Dynamics CRM update available soon

Along with a long list of updates to its cloud offerings to enterprise customers, Microsoft announced today that it is going to release Dynamics CRM Online Fall ’13 later this month, the on-premises version of the customer relationship management software, alongside currently available cloud-version Dynamics NAV 2013 R2.

In a blog post on the Dynamics Web site, corporate vice president of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Bob Stutz says the new version is rolling out to Microsoft data centres worldwide. He shares some feedback from customers participating in the preview of the new software. Mostly those are positive statements about the new user experience and interface of the software. But the comments also highlight that new mobile apps will be available for the software – optimized for both smartphone and tablets.

Dyanmics NAV 2013 R2 is now available for cloud users, Microsoft says. “Offering small and midsize businesses interoperability with Office 365, full multitenant support, and a range of tools designed to support large-scale hosting of the application on Windows Azure.”

A “Global Premiere Event” for the new Dynamics software will be held in Barcelona Nov. 4.

The news came as Microsoft unveiled a series of announcements including a new releases of Windows Intune expected Oct. 18. The PC management tool aimed at small businesses and will combine with System Center Configuration Manager to assist with mobile device management and securing a bring your own device (BYOD) environment.
