The TZ 190, a network security appliance from SonicWALL Inc., allows users to instantly create a secure 3G wireless broadband network without the need for a fixed Internet connection.Built on SonicWALL’s deep packet protection technology, it lets organizations establish secure 3G wireless broadband access in any location simply by inserting a SonicWALL-approved wireless PC card in the PC card slot. Organizations can use the TZ 190 to rapidly establish high-speed networks for seasonal kiosks, mobile point-of-sale stations, portable ATM machines, disaster recovery networks and more. The TZ 190 can be remotely managed via a Web interface, or using SonicWALL’s Global Management System.

Infrant Technologies, which focuses on storage for home and small business use, is offering its latest network attached storage (NAS) device, the ReadyNAS NV+. It is designed to meet the varied and demanding needs of consumers and home office/small office users while providing a reliable, failsafe way to store data. The ReadyNAS NV+ includes several major improvements over previous versions, most notably a quieter design. It also offers a new LCD that displays Instant Status Notifications in clear and concise language. The ReadyNAS NV+ is scalable to 3 TB and employs four hot-swap trays, making it easy to replace or install a hard drive, even when the unit is powered on. As with all ReadyNAS devices, the NV+ is compatible with Microsoft Windows, Linux, UNIX and Mac OS X operating systems.

OfficeTalk 4.5.1, a workgroup collaboration software solution that allows for the sharing of calendars, contacts, email, planners, projects, meetings and documents, is now available from Softalk Ltd. in a free, single-user version. All information in OfficeTalk can be shared with other users who have been granted permission to either view, edit or delete it. In addition to users, an unlimited number of resources can be managed, such as, for example, meeting rooms, pool vehicles or digital projectors. OfficeTalk structures contacts according to the organization to which they belong and can show a complete view of historical and pending activity, including e-mail, letters, meetings, tasks and conversations.
For the small wireless set
D-Link is shipping its most powerful home/small business networking routers and adapters yet, the Xtreme N Gigabit Router (DIR-655) and Xtreme N desktop and notebook adapters (DWA-552 and DWA-652, respectively). Using the latest Draft 802.11n wireless technology, the Xtreme N family is designed for larger homes and offices with high-speed Internet that use multiple PCs, game consoles and other digital home devices such as streaming media adapters. The Xtreme N Router is the first Gigabit Draft N router to incorporate Intelligent Wireless Quality of Service (QoS) Technology, which automatically prioritizes high-bandwidth, latency-sensitive wireless data traffic, allowing users to experience smooth streaming HD video, lag-free gaming and jitter-free voice over Internet (VoIP) calls, according to D-Link. The router also ships with Gigabit local area network (LAN) and Gigabit wide area network (WAN) ports and comes with an integrated wireless security wizard.
