ViewSonic announces addition to VAR program

ViewSonic Corp. has expanded its partner program by adding a new component to keep the channel on top of current features, accessories and programs.

The interactive quiz-style training component, which will be available to Canadian on Top partners early in the second quarter, educates resellers

about product and solution benefits, markets, key programs and messages, as well as sales techniques through real-world situations, questions and conversations.

“”Knowledge is power,”” said Colleen Browne, ViewSonic Canada’s general manager. “”The intent of online training is to educate the channel on areas of growth and opportunities our products can bring to their business.””

The announcement is part of its umbrella campaign, See the Difference, which was launched earlier this year with a revamped extranet that offers channel partners improved value, programs and tools. Resellers can access the new component via its PartnerView Web site.

“”We’ve extended the program to include on-line training because the broadening of our product line and the need to educate the channel on emerging products is key to understanding the opportunities which await them,”” she said.

The new feature will focus on ViewSonic’s new product lines including Tablet PCs, LCD TVs, mobile and wireless solutions and digital projectors. ViewSonic recently launched several high definition (HD) products including a tuner called NextVision HD10 that allows users to enjoy over-the-air digital programming on HDTV-ready televisions without additional subscription fees or contracts. It also announced two new 30-inch LCD TVs, the NextVision N3000w and N3020w.

To encourage partner participation during the first month, partners who take the quiz will be entered to win a 42-inch plasma TV. Partners will also earn ViewSonic MasterCard dollars as part of its sales promotion incentive fund in recognition of their involvement on an ongoing basis.

One of the key benefits of on-line training, Browne added, is “”convenience learning.””

“”We are unable to touch the entire channel one-on-one in real time,”” Browne explained. “”On-line training overcomes this physical limitation while allowing the channel to learn at a time that is convenient for them.””

To illustrate the value of interactive training for the reseller, Browne gave the example of ViewSonic’s high-end LCD monitor, theVP2290b, which is targeted at the high-end graphics, CADCAM and healthcare markets.

“”Understanding these markets’ needs and the solution the VP2290b provides gives the channel another solid product offering to their current customers, while opening up doors to new customers.””

ViewSonic will also be adding webinars on topical subjects to its PartnerView Web Site in the coming months.
