Video Rewind: How to recognize fake security software

Fake software and bogus antivirus tools are a multi-million dollar industry that continues to wreak havoc on consumers and businesses around the world.

Firefox users have also been targeted by new scam that tries to load a user’s PC with fake antivirus software using a passably convincing version of the Windows Update page.

In this Video Rewind episode, Steve Trilling, Vice President, Security Technology and Response, Symantec, discusses how Internet users can recognize illegitimate security software and avoid becoming a victim of cybercrime.
