Video Rewind: Happy Birthday Twitter

Twitter, everyone’s favourite way to share 140-character messages at a time, turned five yesterday.

The site is seeing phenomenal growth lately (perhaps partly thanks to Charlie Sheen creating an account as he loses his grip on sanity) and is seeing an average of half a million accounts created every day. A billion messages are sent on Twitter every eight days. Twitter has been credited as an invaluable communications tool in the wake of disasters around the world, democratic uprisings in the Middle East, and business professionals looking for the best information available to help them do their jobs.
