Paltalk announces McAfee integration in Paltalk Messenger
McAfee, Inc. announced that it has partnered with Paltalk to offer McAfee security products to users of the upcoming version of Paltalk Messenger version 8.3. The new version of Paltalk Messenger will support user-generated chat rooms with 1000+ members, as well as instant messaging (IM) with contacts on AOL, MSN, Yahoo! and ICQ. McAfee’s products will be offered to all of Paltalk’s users.

McAfee security products protect against viruses, Trojans, spyware and dialers that may result in lost files, identity theft and poor PC performance. The products also prohibit unauthorized access to and from the Internet, block unwanted or persistent pop-up ads, manage cookies, and filter unwanted and offensive Internet and e-mail content.

Paltalk users can purchase McAfee Internet Security Suite or individual security services at a discounted rate off MSRP.

Mischel Internet Security releases TrojanHunter
Mischel Internet Security has released version 4.5 of its trojan scanner TrojanHunter.

New in this release is the ability of LiveUpdate to download incremental updates, saving on download times. TrojanHunter protects the user’s system from trojans which can be used to steal passwords, documents and other sensitive information.

TrojanHunter comes with the on-demand scanner TrojanHunter Scanner, the resident monitor TrojanHunter Guard and LiveUpdate and protects against over 22,000 trojans. TrojanHunter runs under Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP.

A single-user licence costs US$49. A free 30-day trial version is available from the company’s site.

Wireless

CommonTime mSuite 4.2 offers greater Lotus Notes functionality to Windows Mobile devices.
MobileTech Ltd. offers improvements to mSuite to allow for better Lotus Notes integration.

Version 4.2 offers a number of features including Push wake up!, an auto wake-up function that activates sleeping devices to deliver pushed data so that mSuite can automatically update your device at the beginning of every working day. Also offered is inbox reconcile functionality on Windows Mobile Pocket PC devices that ensures that the read/unread status and delivery of messages is accurate. The system is designed exclusively for enterprises running IBM Lotus Notes and Domino.

mSuite works with Lotus Notes and other applications over GSM/GPRS, EDGE, EvDO, WiFi, IrDA, Bluetooth, cable and others.

Data Management

SAS unveils 10 business intelligence solutions
SAS announced the release of three new and seven enhanced software solutions.

The enhancements are designed to target a number of industry sectors. For financial services, the SAS Anti-Money Laundering tool sifts through data to detect subtle patterns that may indicate suspicious behavior. The latest version adds enhanced data integration capabilities through SAS Data Integration Studio and other components. SAS Credit Risk Management for Banking is used for scoring, rating and managing credit and credit risk, with the latest version adding improved reporting so that information can be shared more easily throughout a bank. SAS Fair Banking helps lenders ensure regulatory compliance while improving quality of their lending decision.

For the manufacturing sector, SAS Warranty Analysis reduces warranty costs and improves quality by using warranty claims, call center data and other sources to identify fraudulent claims, detect emerging issues and forecast warranty costs. The new version offers enhanced integration with standard desktop tools. SAS Service Parts Optimization is a new product from SAS, which allows organizations to provide after-sale support by better forecasting demand for parts and optimizing inventories, thus increasing customer satisfaction and improving profitability.

For the retail sector, Marketmax Allocation improves inventory management with allocation and replenishment of basic, fashion and promotional merchandise. The new version offers support for advanced and user-defined allocations, and for industry-standard allocation methods. SAS Markdown Optimization boosts profitability by determining which items should be marked down, by how much, when and in which stores. SAS Promotion Optimization helps maximize revenue by accurately predicting which items to promote, in which locations, at what price and via which promotional vehicles. The enhanced version offers more support for complex promotions, as well as improved event and scenario analysis and planning.

For the telecommunications industry, SAS Revenue Assurance for Telecommunications is designed to enable communications service providers to manage their revenue streams and minimize revenue leakage. SAS Price Plan Optimization for Telecommunications is designed to help providers improve operational performance and customer satisfaction by identifying price plans with the highest returns for the operator and the highest preference among customers.
