AMUST Software announces release of AMUST Registry Cleaner 3.0 and AMUST Disk Cleaner 1.0
AMUST Software released AMUST Registry Cleaner version 3.0, a Windows registry maintenance utility and AMUST Disk Cleaner 1.0, a storage maximization application.

One of the new features in this release of AMUST Registry Cleaner 3.0 is the ability to detect and clean non-removable (i.e. embedded-null registry keys). These non-removable registry keys are used by rootkits and other malware to store malicious code. AMUST Software also announced the release of AMUST Disk Cleaner 1.0, a free disk cleanup utility. AMUST Disc Cleaner utilizes Instant Disk Access (IDA) technology, which can scan any size hard drive and determine the size of files and folders as well as other attributes within seconds.

AMUST Registry Cleaner 3.0 is integrated and comes with AMUST Disk Cleaner 1.0. AMUST Registry Cleaner is available for evaluation from the company’s site. AMUST Registry Cleaner is priced at US$29.99 per Windows computer, with volume discounts available.

Dell releases entry-level notebook
Dell announced the release of the Latitude D520, a new entry-level notebook for SMB and education market.

The computer is dual-core processor capable, features an industrial design, a durable magnesium alloy frame and a starting weight of 5.24 pounds. Customers can also configure the system with their choice of Intel Core Duo or Celeron M processors, 14.1-inch or 15-inch displays and Wi-Fi networking capability. For power, there is a dual-battery configuration option, allowing for extended use and an integrated microphone for VoIP applications. The Latitude D520 is also designed to handle the upcoming release of Microsoft Windows Vista operating system and the 802.11n Wi-Fi standard. The Latitude D520 is compatible with Latitude D-Family notebook accessories shipped since 2003, including batteries, docking stations, optical drives and power adapters.

Pricing on the base model begins at $1,049.

Juniper Networks offers WAN Reporting and Visibility Tools for Managed Service Providers
Juniper Networks, Inc. announced the latest release of WX Central Management System (CMS) software for both large enterprises and managed service providers.

The WX CMS 5.2 software enables users to deliver value-added reporting capabilities to multiple customers from a single interface. For MSPs, the software simplifies multi-customer management by providing a single platform from which the MSPs can manage multiple customer networks. For both enterprises and MSPs, the software may simplify the configuration and management of multiple WX and WXCTM application acceleration platforms deployed in geographically dispersed locations.

Suggested WX CMS 5.2 software pricing starts at US$5,795 for 10 devices.

Cisco releases new 7200 series routers
Cisco Systems released three products to its 7200 series of routers, which offer wide-area network (WAN) and metropolitan-area network (MAN) services.

The Cisco 7200 NPE-G2 is the newest routing engine for the Cisco 7200VXR chassis and offers double the performance for multiple services from previous generations. Additional features include threat defense, highly secure virtual private network (VPN) connectivity, network admission control and voice/IP-to-IP gateway functions.

The Cisco 7200 VSA is a VPN hardware acceleration module that can provide up to triple performance improvement when combined with the Cisco 7200 NPE-G2 card. This increased performance supports large-scale IPsec aggregation architectures and more secure Cisco IOS Software connectivity.

The Cisco 7200 Port Adapter Jacket Card addresses the demand for additional slot density. The I/O slot can now hold a single port adapter for additional capacity on systems with the Cisco 7200 NPE-G1 and later Network Processing Engine.

The Cisco 7200 Series Network Processing Engine is listed at US$19,000, the Cisco 7200 VPN Services Adapter is listed at US$15,000 and the Cisco 7200 Port Adapter Jacket Card is listed at US$1,250.
