Jetsoft’s Collate 2.0 allows edits to PDFs
Jetsoft Development Company announced the release of Collate 2.0, a PDF and TIFF editor.

Collate allows users to open and modify PDF files, in addition to adding the ability to create PDFs from other documents and image sources. Collate also gives users a way to manage multiple page file formats such as PDF and TIFF.

Using the program’s interface, users can create a target multiple page PDF or TIFF document. Users can then add pages to the target from various source image formats including JPEG, BMP, PDF and TIFF. There is also the ability to rearrange, sort or delete pages from the target in any format they wish. Individual pages can be edited with the bundled Collate Page Editor which allows both text and image based corrections such as erasing image artifacts or colour correction to pages in the document. When the target is a PDF file, all searchable text is retained and any text added to the document is also searchable. When saving the target file, users can choose from a variety of uncompressed, lossless compressed, or lossy compression options for TIFF and PDF files. Passwords with 128-bit encryption are also available.

Collate works on Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP systems. It may be used stand alone as a creation and management product or with Jetsoft Art-Copy 8.2 Enterprise as an after capture product. Sold alone, Collate 2.0 has an introductory price of US$99.00.

Dell introduces business line of laser printers
Dell introduced a series of laser printers featuring simplified printer management software and the capability to scale from small- and medium-sized business needs to networked enterprise demands.

Dell now offers its OpenManage Printer Manager software with its latest laser printers. It is designed to provide IT administrators a single console for printer monitoring, management and reporting for any Dell network printer and select third-party network printers.

Dell’s colour printers include the Dell Laser Printer 3010cn and the Dell Laser Printer 5110cn, which feature the ColorTrack colour control tool.
