Intel introduces dual-core low-voltage Intel Xeon processor
Intel Corp. has announced two low-voltage Intel Xeon processors, offering a dual-core structure with improved energy efficiency.
The unit has total dissipated power (TDP) of 31 watts, designed for deployments requiring high compute density and power optimization, including single-height (1U) chassis and blade servers, SAN and NAS solutions and network infrastructure equipment.
The dual-core Intel Xeon processor LV 2.0 GHz and 1.66 GHz are available from Intel now for US$423 and US$209 per unit, respectively, in 1,000-unit quantities.
EMC announces Smarts VoIP Manager
EMC Corp. announced the release of EMC Smarts Voice over IP (VoIP) Manager, an impact analysis tool for next-generation voice-enabled networks. The new software monitors VoIP network systems and applications for availability and identifies problems with system settings.
The system discovers network elements such as voice switches, IP PBXs (private branch exchanges), media gateways and VoIP servers, as well as all telephony and network application services. It also builds a topology of relationships and dependencies among VoIP and the infrastructure and then establishes device relationships and interconnectivity within the VoIP infrastructure and all overlying applications.
NetSuite introduces NetSuite-Software Company Edition
NetSuite, Inc. has launched NetSuite-Software Company Edition. The product is designed for software sales departments to track client data, from when the lead is in the system through the sales process to purchase and on to subsequent renewals and repeat sales.
Also featured is rich financial management functionality, including revenue recognition and usage-based billing. This edition of NetSuite includes new versions of NetSuite’s AJAX Dashboards that are designed to give users real-time visibility into performance indicators.
NetSuite-Software Company Edition is available immediately.
NeoScale launches Cryptostor Keyvault
NeoScale Systems Inc. announced CryptoStor KeyVault, an open security key management system that offers centralized management of both NeoScale encryption appliance keys and those from third-party storage encryption vendors.
With the product, organizations can centrally manage and distribute encryption keys among multiple internal locations, to disaster recovery sites and to business partners to facilitate information recovery from any authorized location. The FIPS 140-2 Level 3 tamper-proof chassis ensures the KeyVault is solidly built. All hardware, software, firmware, and user operation is covered by FIPS certification.
