Dekart launches password solution for USB Drives
Dekart released Dekart Password Carrier, a portable password management tool that allows for one-click login to Web sites from USB flash drives.

What makes Password Carrier different from other password management applications is its data protection and mobility. Mobile users will enjoy secure browsing at Internet cafes and other public places. Users install Password Carrier onto an existing USB drive, plug it any Windows PC and can then automatically log into online accounts and fill in online forms. When done, users simply unplug the USB drive and walk away with all personal data saved on the portable USB drive. Password Carrier can also run from any type of removable media like external hard disks, flash memory cards, mp3 players, iPods or any other portable media players.

Confidential data like passwords, online identities, banking and credit card information are secure with Password Carrier, Dekart says. Password Carrier stores the information in an encrypted form on the removable disk. The passwords on the USB disk are protected with one master password, as well as with fingerprint authentication.

A 30-day trial version is available for download. English and German language interfaces available. A personal or business licence costs US$39.00.

Raritan introduces 64-port KVM-over-IP switch
Raritan added two models to its Dominion Series KVM-over-IP product line and new software for remote server management.

The Dominion KX464, which supports one local and four remote users, also provides dual power supplies with automatic failover and dual LAN ports. Raritan’s 32-port KX132 supports one local and one remote user.

Both models feature Raritan’s Virtual KVM Desktop, an updated KVM-over-IP access and control that provides a connection to a target server virtually indistinguishable from a direct “at-the-rack” connection. The new switches also come with Raritan’s Universal KVM Client, which enables administrators to access the Dominion series switches through the industry’s widest range of browsers and operating systems. Both models are CommandCenter secure gateway ready, so that multiple Dominion switches and connected servers can be managed from one dashboard.

The new Dominion KX models, with software release 1.4, are available through Raritan’s distribution channels. The Dominion KX464, a 2U full-width, rack-mountable appliance, is priced at US$8,495 and the Dominion KX132, a 1U appliance, is priced at US$3,795.

IBM announces new software and systems for telcos
IBM announced the release of middleware and hardware systems to help telecommunications carriers manage converged services combining voice, video and data over both fixed and mobile networks by leveraging a service oriented architecture (SOA).

IBM announced the IBM WebSphere IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Connector, IBM WebSphere Presence Server, and IBM WebSphere Telecom Web Services Server. The company is extending its WebSphere software portfolio to help enable a flexible, IMS-compliant services plane solution supporting the delivery of IP-based services and leveraging a SOA approach. This approach can help telecommunications service providers evolve previously siloed network infrastructure into reusable services that can interoperate. These products build upon the latest release of IBM’s WebSphere Application Server, which has integrated SIP technology to deliver a converged HTTP/SIP service execution platform for next generation services.

IBM also is delivering enhancements to its Eclipse-based Rational Unified Service Creation Environment with a Rational Unified Process plug-in for IMS and associated converged HTTP/SIP application development tools to enable the creation of converged services.

IBM also introduced System x3650T, the latest in IBM’s line of carrier-grade Intel-based systems designed to be optimized for the telecommunications environment. System x3650T is designed to support telecommunications applications such as VoIP, IMS, IPTV, telecom network infrastructure and gateways and may also be deployed for mission-critical application. The proliferation of broadband communications and (IP) technology is creating new opportunities to leverage commercial off-the-shelf components to more quickly and cost-effectively deliver creative, multimedia-based communications services.
