The Rolodex: Wavesat picks a marketing VP

The company, a developer of WiMAX silicon, said it had appointed Vijay Dube as vice-president of marketing and business development. Dube will be responsible for partnerships and alliances as well as leading Wavesat’s global marketing activities.

Dube

comes to Wavesat from Atsana Corp., an Ottawa-based fabless semiconductor company, where he was VP marketing and business development. Prior to that, he co-founded Dipix Technologies and acted as the vice-president of Sales & Marketing. He also worked as Chief of Operations for a business unit at Coreco Imaging, driving strategic product and business development. 


Cohn & Wolfe

Karen Gumbs has moved from Strategic Ampersand (where she handled Cisco) to join C&W, where she is helping with the Intel of Canada account. In the past she worked for National PR on the 3Com account.


Media Profile

The company is the new public relations agency of record for Olympus Imaging America Inc. Its work for Olympus will focus heavily on profiling Olympus’ digital cameras, digital voice recorders and digital music players.


Wilcox Group

The company’s Toronto office has added EDS Canada, a global technology services company delivering business solutions to its clients, as its public relations and communications agency of record. Wilcox Group will spearhead a variety of communications initiatives and provide strategic public relations counsel to EDS.
