The Rolodex: Vonage calls on Cohn & Wolfe

The real-time secure data integration solutions provider has promoted Mark Deep to the position of vice-president of marketing. As a member of DataMirror’s executive team, Deep will play an integral role in initiating business strategies, overseeing corporate and product

marketing, as well as executing marketing plans for DataMirror’s software solutions, the company said.

Deep most recently led the launch of DataMirror’s Integration Suite 2005, a product that combines comprehensive integration technology with global services to support business applications such as real-time business intelligence and business activity monitoring.

Deep had previously worked in marketing at American Express, Dell, Intel and IBM.


Cohn & Wolfe

The firm said it had recently won the Vonage Canada account. Vonage is best known as a provider of voice-over-IP technology. Duane MacDonald said he would be working on the account.

The firm also said Tom Giantsopoulos, who had been running the day-to-day activities for the Intel of Canada account, has left the firm to pursue other opportunities. MacDonald said he would be helping manage the account while a replacement is found. Giantsopoulos had come to C&W from Porter-Novelli Canada, where he worked on the HP Canada account.


Computer Associates Canada

Anna Da Costa, the firm’s internal communications executive, has left the firm. No replacement has been announced. Da Costa had previously worked at ITPR, now known as Tangency.


Nintendo of Canada

Lesley Short has moved from her internal public relations position to take on a sales job at the game company. PR activities will be handled by the firm’s agency, Cohn & Wolfe. Lisa Libin and Renee Sauriol at C&W will be helping to manage the account.
