The Rolodex: The CMA meets AIMS

The group said it has formed an alliance with the Association of Internet Marketing and Sales (AIMS) that will provide it the opportunity to offer input into the development of AIMS policy through representation on the AIMS board of directors.

will also be represented on the CMA board. As well, AIMS will work with its 6,500 members towards ensuring compliancy with the CMA Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. Mandatory for CMA members and members of its affiliated organizations, the CMA Code sets and maintains standards for the conduct of Canadian marketers and includes specific guidelines on consumer privacy, Internet marketing and marketing to children and teenagers.


 

Nortel Networks

The phone equipment vendor said it had appointed Clent Richardson as chief marketing officer. Richardson will lead a newly formed global marketing organization responsible for brand development and management, online presence, solutions marketing, advertising, public relations, sponsorships, promotions, community relations, employee communications and events. He also will serve on Nortel Networks global executive management strategy group, reporting directly to Bill Owens, president and chief executive officer. Richardson previously worked for Apple and T-Mobile.


 

Fjord Interactive Marketing + Technology

The subsidiary of Cossette Communication Group recently hired Jennifer Hance as Usability Analyst for the expanding work with its clients such as General Motors Canada, General Mills Inc., and Compassion.com.

With more than eight years of usability experience, Hance will be providing senior level consulting and executional usability services to clients and internal project teams.


 

MGE UPS Systems Inc.

The company said it has chosen Binary Marketing as its computer channel representative to help grow its Canadian reseller business. Binary Marketing will work closely with MGE Canada, located in Toronto, to expand MGE’s computer channel presence with resellers and distributors serving IT customers.


 

Nintendo of Canada

The firm recently announced Cohn & Wolfe as its agency of record. Toronto-based GCI Group previously managed the account.
