The Rolodex: Intel turns to Intuit to market in SMB space

Intel Canada and Intuit Canada, which provide business and financial management solutions for small and medium-size businesses (SMB), have signed an agreement to jointly market desktop and portable PCs supporting Intel Pentium 4 Processor with Hyper-Threading (HT) Technology

with Intuit QuickBooks accounting software installed.

Intel Canada and Intuit Canada intend to promote this OEM bundle to both the Intel Product Dealers (IPD) and SMB buyers. This program is primarily a new customer acquisition program, but will also appeal to customers who own an older PC or older versions of QuickBooks Basic software.


Wilcox Group

The firm announced the opening of a Toronto office at BCE Place. The move comes on the heels of the company being ranked B.C.’s top PR firm for the second year in a row in Business in Vancouver’s annual review.

The agency’s key practice areas include crisis and issues management, labour relations and strike management, marketing and consumer public relations, media relations and corporate communications. PR2010, a division of Wilcox Group, also works with clients to maximize opportunities surrounding the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Vancouver. Clients include Telus and Electronic Arts.


Maverick Public Relations

Andre Fuochi, former vice-president, has left the firm and is working at SlipStream Data Inc., a privately-owned software development company based in Waterloo, Ont. Prior to joining Maverick, Fuochi worked at Cohn & Wolfe. A replacement has not been named.


Sequentia Communications

Sacha DeGroot has joined the firm as an associate. DeGroot brings more than seven years of public relations and marketing insight to the company. Prior to Sequentia, Sacha was the PR and Marketing Manager at NCR Canada Ltd.


Voce Communications

Heather Archibald said the firm has been appointed the Canadian media relations contact for storage specialist Network Appliance. The account has been traditionally handled by Maverick Public Relations.
