Holly Dunn has left the firm to start her own freelance PR business, which she is calling Shoreline Communications. Dunn had originally left the firm last year on maternity leave. At Apex, she had been responsible for a number of accounts, including Tech Data Canada

The firm said it had been retained by Ceridian Canada as its agency of record. Ceridian offers a number of managed HR solutions including payroll and payment solutions, HR consulting, HR information systems, employee assistance programs and work-life services. Doug Shirra, formerly a principal, has left the company to take on the role of director of marketing, Americas with Systems Union, developers of Sun Systems Global Financial & Accounting software. Shirra had worked on accounts such as Network Associates, MKS and D-Link Canada.


 

Alchemy Public Relations

The company said it would be taking over the Adobe Systems Canada account, which had previously been managed by Apex Public Relations. Those working on the account will include: Eric Tang, erict@getareaction.com, and Jennifer Stein, jennifers@getareaction.com.


 

Wilcox Group

The firm said it had gained Electronic Arts Canada as a client. EA is an dependent developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software and currently has a major recruitment drive to hire great people, and Wilcox Group will be assisting in the recruitment campaign through its media relations activities. Environics Communicaitons

Lawrence Cummer has been promoted to senior consultant. Cummer, who works on a number of accounts including Xerox Canada, joined Environics after editing Transcontinental Media’s Communications & Networking Journal.
