Symantec introduces Symantec Security Information Manager 4.5
Symantec Corp. announced Symantec Security Information Manager 4.5, providing customers the foundation of an IT governance and compliance program by automating the incident management lifecycle. Symantec Security Information Manager assists customers in mitigating IT risk by reporting on the effectiveness of IT security controls and enabling IT administrators to respond to security threats and incidents in network environments.

Symantec Security Information Manager 4.5 delivers integrated event archiving and management, compliance reporting and administration of enterprise deployments. Customers are able to build a repeatable and documented incident response program and are provided built-in report templates that can be customized, scheduled and distributed automatically.

Symantec Security Information Manager 4.5 provides customers long-term retention of logs for forensic and compliance mandates. In order to lower total cost of ownership, numerous storage options are now available including: DAS, SAN, and NAS. Symantec Security Information Manager also provides an infrastructure monitoring user interface and user management through Active Directory integration and roles management.

Security operation centre (SOC) analysts are able to respond to the critical security threats in customer environments. ComBrio launches VSI 3.0 for remote secure support
ComBrio Inc. announced the general availability of ComBrio Virtual Service Infrastructure (VSI), Version 3.0.

VSI provides enterprises with a single, centralized access control point for its remote service providers. 10-Strike announces 10-Strike Network Inventory Explorer 1.2
10-Strike Software has released a tool for building the inventory of hardware and software installed on network computers, 10-Strike Network Inventory Explorer 1.2. The program helps system administrators view computers’ configurations remotely, generate various reports and plan upgrades.

10-Strike Network Inventory Explorer finds out which processors are running in network computers, how much memory is installed, who uses flash drives, etc. A system administrator can get information on installed software including information on operating system, hotfixes and programs included in the startup. The program uses WMI technology and does not require installing any additional software on users’ computers. Thus, it is quite easy to employ 10-Strike Network Inventory Explorer even in huge networks.

ZaTelnet launches Telnet/SSH client tool for smart phones

ZaTelnet has released ZaTelnet Professional 1.1, a protocol client designed for network system administrators, end users and Web designers, working with Unix/Linux/BSD systems. This operating system independent version comes with extended functionalities, including smart phone support, ability to save, restore and edit sessions, virtual scrolling screen with adjustable size, floating keyboard, different font sizes, support of possible display sizes and orientation, and many more.

ZaTelnet Professional 1.1. is a Telnet / SSH / SSH1 / SSH2 client for devices supporting Microsoft Compact Framework 1.0 or 2.0. It also emulates terminal VT100 (basically enough for working with Midnight Commander and others console programs). ZaTelnet Professional 1.1 supports SSH2 authorization both by “plain password” and “keyboard interactive.” The latter mode can be useful in using RSA SecurID tokens.
