Shutterstock releases plugin for Adobe Creative Cloud

It just became a whole lot easier for Adobe Creative Cloud users to add an image from Shutterstock Inc. to their work.

On Tuesday, the New York City-based stock photo giant announced the release of a plugin that gives Adobe Creative Cloud users full access to its vast library, including more than 8 million video clips and a photo and image collection that grows by more 150,000 additions per day.

The plugin had previously been released for Adobe Photoshop in 2016, but is newly compatible with the company’s Illustrator and InDesign programs as well, while editors now have access to the company’s video clips through Premiere Pro.

In a Sept. 19 statement, Shutterstock founder and CEO Jon Oringer said the integrationsare not only intended to save creative professionals time, but also provide them with an all-in-one content platform they can use to coordinate with customers.

“Our team is always looking for new ways to speed things up for customers,” Oringer said in the statement. “As soon as we announced the Photoshop plugin last year, people started to ask us when we’d provide them the same service for other applications within the Adobe suite.”

Key features of the Shutterstock plugin include:

In its release, Shutterstock emphasizes that Creative Cloud users now have access to the largest collection of photos, vectors, and illustrations available through Adobe’s signature application. Unmentioned is Adobe’s own considerable stock photo library, which emphasizes quality over quantity.
