Server set for SMBs

Microsoft Canada Co. has launched Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2 for smaller businesses that are considering adding their first server or acquiring what will be the center of a multi-server network.

The product is designed as a comprehensive, affordable solution to handle e-mail, fax, database and security technologies and help protect shared Internet access. It provides customers with enhanced security through its Green Check of software health and automated patch and update services for all Microsoft Update supported products in the network, as well as improved flexibility with increased e-mail mailbox limits (from 16 GB to 75 GB).

Replace my security

EntryPoint 2.0 is the latest version of its authentication password replacement solution for Microsoft Windows Active Directory from Saflink Corp. EntryPoint helps SMBs increase security and productivity by replacing standard password-based Windows log-on processes with alternate authentication technologies. SMBs can also mix and match technologies to meet various enterprise security requirements. Two new add-on products are also available for EntryPoint 2.0: EP-Connect, which allows remote workers to gain secure access to corporate networks and business functions, and EP-Biometric, which lets businesses add biometric authentication and security policies to their security infrastructure using fingerprint biometric devices.

More applications bridged

The eBridge 2007 Universal Integration Adapter, from eBRIDGE Software, will expand considerably the number of accounting and industry applications that eBridge supports, from 40 to more than 200. (eBridge solutions provide bi-directional integration between back-office accounting systems and business data such as EDI, CRM, Webstore, procurement solutions, logistics and warehouse systems.) Using XML-based schemas, the eBridge Universal Adapter employs an intelligent code base to communicate with the accounting application, allowing for ease of installation and customization. Users can download the Universal Adapter from the eBridge Web site.

Double features
SYSPRO, a producer of enterprise software for SMB manufacturers and distributors, has added hundreds of features and functionalities to its SYSPRO customer relationship management (CRM) software. SYSPRO CRM 5.0 now supports Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and offers improved e-mail synchronization capabilities with Microsoft Outlook, with added support for GroupWise. A built-in Executive View comes standard with SYSPRO CRM 5.0, letting managers display charts of key sales statistics and service tickets for easy graphical analyses and greater insight into weekly or monthly performance. Other new additions include several campaign tracking capabilities, providing the ability to monitor expenses against the marketing plan and budget information. The status of a campaign is easily visible, and gives management real-time information for quick decision making.
