Anonymizer lets users hide behind their e-mail account

Anonymizer Inc. unveiled Anonymizer Nyms, a tool to instantly create anonymous, disposable e-mail addresses to protect personal accounts against spam, viruses, worms, spyware, adware, phishing scams and more.

Anonymizer Nyms protects customers’ real e-mail addresses with anonymous, disposable ones. By creating a Nyms e-mail address every time an e-mail address is required, users are able to control incoming mail. Additionally, they can even identify exactly where spam is being initiated. When a user determines that an e-mail address has been shared with spammers, they can simply deactivate that Nyms account and stop the spam from flooding their in-box.

Customers can maintain their privacy by using anonymous Nyms e-mail addresses with untrusted sources. For example, if they want to comment on an article, check on the status of an order, or request more information from a vendor’s sales department, they can use an anonymous Nyms e-mail address to keep their personal one protected.
Anonymizer Nyms redirects all incoming e-mail to a user’s primary address. This makes it easier to manage than creating second, third or fourth e-mail accounts that keep people checking multiple e-mail boxes for messages daily.

Anonymizer Nyms is available for an annual subscription of US$19.99. Customers can also purchase the new Anonymizer Safe Surfing Suite, which includes Anonymizer Nyms coupled with Anonymous Surfing, Anonymizer Digital Shredder, and Anonymizer Anti-Spyware. An annual subscription to the Anonymizer Safe Surfing Suite is available for US$49.99.

Sage updates PFW ERP program

Sage Software announced the release of Sage PFW ERP 5.5, its financial and process manufacturing solution. Features in Sage PFW 5.5 include an Advanced Lookup Engine, enhanced security, Accounts Receivable Writeoff, Accounts Payable Quick Check and Batch Edit Report.

The Sage PFW Advanced Lookup Engine is a data retrieving tool that enables users to tailor functions to each user’s unique requirements. Customized views can be saved for quick retrieval, or even set as defaults. The Advanced Lookup Engine also exports data results in a variety of formats, enabling users to leverage company information for marketing and sales activities.

A Delete credential has been added to Sage PFW 5.5 for greater protection of data across the entire company. The Delete credential controls the ability to remove financial data, process manufacturing formulas and other critical information to only those with the specified credential. By isolating the Delete credential from Read/Write credentials, an added layer of security is created to protect important data.

Sage PFW 5.5 also supports Administrator rights assigned to multiple individuals within an organization. This is designed to give companies greater flexibility with better auditing, as maintenance and other changes to security, sales, accounting and manufacturing data are fully tracked when updated. Administrative functions have been enhanced with a TreeView display and toolbar to simplify the creation and maintenance of security groups and user rights.

An Accounts Receivable Writeoff feature automates the task of clearing nominal, unpaid invoice amounts and eliminates time-consuming manual adjustments to Accounts Receivable legers. Accounts Receivable Writeoff applies balances to pre-defined general ledger accounts by writeoff type to quickly and easily make adjustments and keep data accurate.

The Batch Edit Report is an automated tool designed to ensure accuracy and eliminate even the smallest of errors before batches are closed and finalized. Users define validation flags to help identify critical problems, identified as “Error” conditions, or tolerable problems, identified as “Warning” conditions.
