Rosetta launches Surf Sense Version 2.0
Rosetta Software announces the release of Surf Sense Version 2.0, an Internet searching utility for the Windows platform.

Surf Sense enables the user to look up highlighted text in any Windows program at the press of a hotkey. Simply highlight the text you wish to look up, hit the hotkey, and Internet Explorer will pop up with the search results using your favourite search engine. Surf Sense also features a word recording facility, which when active, buffers the most recently typed words in Windows, and allows the user to search for these words on the Internet via a tray-icon popup.

Surf Sense avoids the need to open Web browsers and browse to search engine sites directly. The program comes with several pre-configured search engines for the U.S, U.K and France, allowing both word and image lookups. It also features the ability for users to add their own custom search engines and search types.

Surf Sense Version 2.0 will run under Windows Vista, XP, 2003 and 2000.

Surf Sense Version 2.0 is available now. The price is US$15, and it can be ordered online at http://www.rosettasoftware.com. Multiple licence packs are available.

Agilent announces solution for monitoring converged networks
Agilent Technologies Inc. announced the solutions for monitoring and troubleshooting complex SIGTRAN networks. The enhanced QoS Analyzer and Session Trace applications further extend the assureME application portfolio by simplifying the process of managing converged networks (SS7 over IP or circuit-switched). Network quality is ensured through identification and analysis of potential issues, and troubleshooting for problem resolution.

Deploying SIGTRAN manages surging SS7 traffic and enabling services such as voice over IP which deliver network efficiencies and operating expenditure reductions. Agilent’s QoS Analyzer prioritizes critical service and network problems for rapid diagnosis. The solution enables wireless and wireline operators to track extensive set of key performance indicators (KPIs), to manage SIGTRAN networks and to deliver service experience.

Agilent’s Session Trace has evolved to provide critical capabilities to help operators troubleshoot SIGTRAN networks. Customer, service and network problems are detailed from session down to packet decode of signaling and service messages. Combined, these solutions provide problem resolution in three clicks: notification, context and troubleshooting. Further extending their industry proven capabilities, both solutions are integrated into the workflow of operations and engineering, enabling the transfer and sharing of information, and problem diagnosis across departments.
