PDF reading tool boon for industry and visually impaired

A new accessibility tool that focuses on PDF documents would be a boon for both companies dealing with high-volume printing and their blind or visually impaired clients, according to technology experts.

There are numerous screen reading technologies in the market, but the Xenos Axess, a server-based assistive technology developed by Xenos Group Inc., a software company which is part of the financial statement firm Actuate Corp., is aimed at elements such as statements, graphs, charts, photographs, records that have been converted into PDF by large volume data generators like banks, financial companies, governments and hospitals.
