Montreal’s Sensio inks 3D video deal with National Geographic

National Geographic Cinema Ventures has inked a deal to provide content for 3DGO!, a 3D video-on-demand (VOD) service launched by Montreal’s Sensio Technologies Inc.

The deal means 3D video content produced byNational Geographic CinemaVentures will be available for rental to users of 3DGO! In January,Sensio announced that 3DGO! would launch in the U.S. this spring. Buttoday Sensio said the service will be available for American customersthis fall.

No financial terms were disclosed for what Sensio calls a “multi-yearagreement” in a news release today.

Sensio has developed hi-fi 3D technology that allows users to view 3Dcontent on conventional 2D channels. Users can install a Sensioapplication on their 3D TVs to access the 3DGO! servicewithout asubscription, set top box or other extra equipment.
