McAfee safeguards IE, Firefox, AOL Instant Messenger and AOL mail

McAfee Inc. announced that McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus, the Web safety tool to actively shield consumers’ computers from Web sites encountered when browsing, searching, instant messaging or e-mailing, now supports Firefox, AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), and AOL mail.

The “Protected Mode” prevents consumers from browsing to risky sites. “Link Checker” extends McAfee SiteAdvisor’s ratings by checking links in e-mail and instant messages. McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus also includes adding phishing site detection. Consumers may use McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus to complement their existing McAfee products, with non-McAfee security products or as a stand-alone solution.

McAfee SiteAdvisor Plus supports both Internet Explorer and Firefox, as well as instant messaging and e-mail platforms including AOL Instant Messenger (AIM), Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, Outlook, Outlook Express, Yahoo! Mail, AOL Mail, Microsoft Live Mail and Gmail.

McAfee SiteAdvisor’s safe search technology protects Internet users from adware, spam, viruses and other online dangers. SiteAdvisor’s software adds red, yellow or green ratings to sites and search results based on proprietary tests of more than 95% of the trafficked Web. ESAB delivers multi-lingual content to 30+ sites

PaperThin Inc. announced that ESAB is using CommonSpot to support its global Web strategy and to maintain information and brand consistency across 30+ sites.

ESAB selected CommonSpot to streamline the publishing process and to empower staff in more than 30 countries to directly manage localized content while adhering to corporate standards for branding and design. ESAB now maintains a global site that links together all of its regional sites via a single, centralized content management system.

CommonSpot’s multi-language support enables ESAB to create and manage Web pages in the languages it requires to meet the needs of its worldwide customer base, including Chinese, Flemish, Finnish, German and Italian. Staff can simply generate a page in one language and activate the workflow for creation of the same page in another language.

Nexaweb expands Enterprise Web 2.0 application development

Nexaweb Technologies, Inc announced the availability of Nexaweb Platform 4.5. Version 4.5 builds on the success of earlier editions by delivering the EW2.0 solution in compliance with Section 508 Accessibility, the client framework supporting both Ajax and Java and enhanced integration support with data services and relational databases.

Compliance with this requirement is achieved through user interface (UI) controls interfacing with the Java accessibility package in Nexaweb’s Java client.

Nexaweb’s enhanced Web services support provides a universal data format that unites information distributed between business critical applications running on various operating systems, platforms and development languages. Nexaweb releases Studio 3.0

Nexaweb Technologies, Inc. announced availability of the Nexaweb Studio. Nexaweb Studio 3.0 is an Eclipse-based Integrated Development Environment (IDE) that offers enterprise Web developers, AJAX, J2EE(tm)/Java(tm) developers and software engineers a standards-based, visual design environment for creating EW2.0 applications.

Nexaweb Studio 3.0 works in conjunction with the Nexaweb Platform (Version 4.5) to ease EW2.0 application development and deployment through a drag-and-drop design environment. With Version 3.0, developers now have Ajax UI capabilities through plug-ins to the Eclipse Ajax Toolkit Framework (ATF) and Web Standard Tools (WST) projects. Nexaweb Studio 3.0 supports Dojo controls, as well as various other third party Java and Ajax widget libraries.
