Label me versatile
Brother International Corporation (Canada) Ltd. is offering two labelling systems for consumer and advanced office and light commercial applications. The PT-1880 and PT-2100 both offer built-in memory to save most-used texts and short-cut hot keys for symbols, auto format and accent keys. Brother also carries standard and specialized adhesive tapes, available in many sizes and colours. The PT-1880 offers a sleek, small footprint and features two professional fonts, with a clear LCD display for easy viewing. It will print on a wide range of tape sizes, from extra-narrow 3.5-mm CD/DVD spine tapes, to 18-mm-wide labels for shelving and small signage. The mid-sized labeler can print on two lines, in six type sizes and nine different type styles. The PT-2100 can be used as a stand-alone labeler or be connected to a PC, allowing users to print logos, bar codes and graphics onto a label (via Brother PT Editor Software, or directly from Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook files). Step up features from the PT-1880 also include: 9-label memory, selection of 17 built-in bar codes and an automatic tape cutter.

Flexible MFP
The Ricoh Aficio MP C2000, a colour multifunction product (MFP) from Ricoh Americas Corp., offers print, copy, scan and fax capabilities in a compact design. Joining the Aficio MP C2500/C3000/C3500/C4500 in the Ricoh colour line-up, the MP C2000 comes with full-colour and black and white output speeds of 20 pages per minute (ppm). Features such as the oversized, full-colour LCD panel, Web Image Monitor and SmartDeviceMonitor make programming and monitoring a simple process for users, says Ricoh and its Scan-to technology makes it easy to send all types of documents to any location. By combining electronic and hard copy files, users can create new documents from existing work, even if the files are created in different applications and computer platforms. The built-in Document Server operates as an electronic repository for information, and is readily accessible for re-printing, re-faxing or editing. As well, faxes can be sent directly from the PC and photos can be printed directly from a digital camera without the need for a computer.

Engage the social consumer
The AgendiZeMe, for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and entrepreneurs, allows customers to instantly move information from Web sites, blogs, ads and e-mails onto more than 50 different applications and personal devices. The AgendiZe Call-to-Action Platform currently powers 20 leading online classifieds and directories, including Yellow Book USA, Kelly Search, CanWest and Yellow Pages Canada. It can extend the reach and duration of advertisers’ online content by letting users extract information from the Web and save it to different devices, or share it. SMBs can use it to offer this same functionality within their own sites, ads and emails. Each customizable AgendiZeMe call-to-action button takes just a few clicks to set up, costs $49 annually, and instantly upgrades all of an SMB’s Web sites, ads or emails, enabling its users to move content – along with links back to the SMB – to the devices and applications they use most. These include personal address books and agendas, desktops, PDAs, instant messengers, emails, mobile phones (via SMS) and social bookmarks such as Facebook and Yahoo! MyWeb.
