Lenovo enhances wireless, long battery life and extended security options
Lenovo introduced its toolkit of ultraperformance-based PCs featuring the ThinkPad X61 and X61s notebooks and the X61 Tablet PC.

Additionally, Lenovo introduced the Lenovo 3000 V200 notebook featuring a built-in optical drive, Vibrant View display and robust multimedia features. Lenovo has also updated its ThinkPad and Lenovo 3000 notebook line with the ThinkPad T61 15.4-inch widescreen, the ThinkPad R61 15.4-inch widescreen and the 3000 N200 14-inch widescreen notebook.

Lenovo’s Ultra Connect II combined with an integrated pop-up antenna on the ThinkPad X61 and X61s improves broadband wireless. Also, Lenovo offers several connectivity options such as WWAN, WLAN with 802.11n technology, GB Ethernet, Bluetooth or modem on select models of all three notebooks.

Lenovo extends the workday with long battery life. The ThinkPad X61s goes the distance up to more than 12 hours with an eight-cell standard battery and optional extended life battery, and the ThinkPad X61 and X61 Tablet follow running approximately up to 11 and 10 hours respectively.

The ThinkPad X Series ultraportables offer security with features like the Client Security Solution, a hardware-software solution to manage passwords and encryption keys, along with optional fingerprint readers.

Lenovo protects the PC with 32-byte hard drive password protection and optional I/O port disablement capabilities. The password feature combined with the integrated fingerprint reader allows users to create lengthy and complex passwords for protecting the hard drive. Through port disablement an individual can disable any port on the outside of the system – from a CD/DVD drive to a USB port to a firewire port.

The ThinkPad X61 models start at $2,299. The ThinkPad T61 and R61 15.4-inch widescreens start at $1,899. The Lenovo 3000 V200 notebook starts at approximately $1,299 and all the notebooks are planned to be available in June through Lenovo Business Partners and online at www.lenovo.com/ca.

Fractus provides antennas for Neonode N2
Fractus has enabled Swedish handset manufacturer Neonode to create its Neonode N2 handset by developing a miniature internal quad-band GSM antenna for the device.Fractus provided an antenna that is 40.8 x 10.74 x 7.45 mm enabling Neonode to produce handsets on the market at 47 x 77 x 14.7 mm.

The handset features multiple technologies that could interfere with an antenna including a 5.08cm (two inch) optical touch screen display – so it has no keypad, a two mega pixel camera, miniSD memory expansion and a multimedia player capable of playing back MP3, AAC, WAV, MPEG4 and WMV formats as well as supporting internet radio recording.

The quad-band antenna operates over GSM on the 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 frequency bands.
