Klaus Schwenk releases CDMenuPro v.6.00
Klaus Schwenk has released CDMenuPro v.6.00, a tool for creating graphic autorun CD Menu applications. You can create menu-driven presentations with backgrounds, buttons and fully integrated movies, music and text.

Version 6.00 includes a customizable, royalty-free Flash player, and lets you include your company logo in your Flash movies. The Copy Assistant lets your CD user copy files or folders to a hard drive, and then run a program from their hard drive. The Search Assistant lets users perform full-text searches, filename searches and many other searches on their hard drives. The Language Editor designs your presentations in a number of user-selectable languages.

Other features in version 6.00 include an embedded IntroPlayer, the ability to add a menu bar to every presentation screen, creation of up to 100 pop-up menus, a resource compiler, enhanced background sound properties, the capacity to put more buttons on your presentation pages, and many more capabilities.

CDMenuPro uses drag-and-drop technology to let you create menus with buttons, list boxes or pop-up menus. With a single click of your menu, your users can launch HTML pages, spreadsheets, Word documents, text files, movies or just about any file or document on their computer. All of the menus that you create with CDMenuPro can create the autoplay files that allow your CDROMs and DVDs to begin playing automatically.

The Business Edition of CDMenuPro includes a special program that ensures that you have the proper reader or viewer installed when you launch PowerPoint Slides and Adobe Acrobat (.PDF) files. It will even let you compile your menu resources into a single file so that they can only be accessed using the menus that you have created.

CDMenuPro Business Edition v.6.00 runs under Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/2003/XP/XPx64/Vista, costs US$54.95 for a personal licence or US$139.95 for a business licence, and may be purchased online at http://www.cdmenupro.com/shop.htm. The upgrade to version 6.00 is available at discounted prices for registered owners of versions 3 through 5, with pricing information available on http://shop.ks-sw.com/upgrade_enu.htm. You can download a free trial version of CDMenuPro from the company’s Web site.

Intivity provides solution to target file-based data in enterprise environments

Intivity Corp. announced the availability of the Intivity Data Mobility Suite, a software that provides transparent data migration and replication of file-based data using policy-based business rules.

Intivity provides an “open tier” solution, where data is stored in non-proprietary file systems and formats which can be accessed without proprietary software. Intivity software can be used for migration and then removed, but the solution can also remain in place to provide policy driven data archival and retention, replication and flexible multi-tier HSM configurations.

The Intivity software supports filesystems as well as sequential media as storage tiers. The currently supported tier formats are open, although the underlying Intivity architecture is generalized so that incorporating support for tier types is straightforward.
