ITema releases KiWeeCommerce
ITema Inc. released KiweeCommerce, an e-commerce module for the MODx content management system (CMS), to the Open Source community under the GNU General Public License (GPL).

KiweeCommerce includes extensive product configuration and options management tools, tax and discount rate tables, and support for PayPal, Google Checkout, and Authorize.Net payment gateways. The module is integrated into MODx, and allows business owners to maintain their own product catalogs. Administrators may configure and manage KiweeCommerce through intuitive menus in the MODx CMS Manager.

KiweeCommerce was developed with external application integration. Transactions are posted to audit tables which external applications can poll to enable integration, such as automatic sales order posting to an accounting or customer relationship management (CRM) system.

KiweeCommerce is available for immediate download by Open Source developers from http://www.kiweecommerce.org/. A self-installer is included to add KiweeCommerce to an existing Web site. A commercial licence that provides full support is also available.

SoftLogica previews the content of deleted files
SoftLogica announces the release of Handy Recovery 4.0, a version of its data recovery software designed to restore lost files. The program supports NTFS/NTFS 5, FAT 12/16/32 and HFS/HFS+ file systems including image recovery from CompactFlash, SmartMedia, MultiMedia and Secure Digital cards.

Handy Recovery uses an Explorer-like interface to browse the contents of your disk. The difference is that after analysis of your disk, you can see deleted files and folders along with the regular ones. The program shows the probability of successful recovery for each file. Recovered files can be saved to any drive accessible on your system. You can also restore the full branch of the folder tree that contains selected files and folders. Along with the main file data, the program can recover alternate data streams, used on NTFS to store additional information about files.

Handy Recovery features an option to create disk images for deferred recovery. You can create an exact image of a logical drive and save it to a special file in another location.

Features in version 4.0:

Handy Recovery is designed for Microsoft Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista. The 30-day trial version with a full set of features (limited to 1 file per day) can be downloaded at http://www.handyrecovery.com/handyrecovery.exe. The program is priced at US$39 per licence. Volume discounts are available.
