Now we are inviting the community we cover to join us in our efforts. Do you want to help your peers succeed and enjoy a well-read platform to raise your profile at the same time? Read below for more details.

About ITBusiness.ca

We’ve been covering Canada’s IT industry for more than a decade and have been recognized by the Canadian Online Publishing Awards, the Kenneth R. Wilson Awards, and referenced by other mainstream media sources for our original coverage. As part of the country’s largest IT-specific, business-to-business publishing company, we cater to an audience of hundreds of thousands each month. We engage our audience across multiple channels including Web, e-mail newsletter, social, and digital publications. Our mandate is to cover startups creating technology and the small to medium-sized businesses that use technology.

Being a Community Blogger

As a community blogger, you’ll work with the ITBusiness.ca editorial staff to develop story ideas and deliver them on schedule. You’ll use our WordPress content management system to prepare your articles for posting to the site. Community bloggers will have a specific focus area based on their experience and expertise to serve as a base to develop story ideas around. We are also open to, and encourage, different formats of story telling – rather than write an article if you think the best way to get the story across is to put together a photo slideshow, produce a video, or make an interactive Web feature, our editorial team will work with you to make it happen.

Typical post length is about 500 words and posts should always include an image. Community bloggers can arrange to post as often as they feel able, but are asked to commit to at least two posts per month.

What you get: an elevated profile on our well-read online platform, access to our network of experts and executives, free admission to industry events as media, and other perks and opportunities as they develop.

We are currently looking for bloggers able to focus on line of business areas such as:

  • Finance
  • IT Administration
  • Executive Operations
  • Sales and Marketing
  • Human Resources
  • Creative
  • Service
  • Manufacturing
  • Engineering
  • Legal
  • Managing Business
  • Leadership
  • Tutorials
  • Security
  • Privacy
  • Mobility

How to apply

E-mail ITBusiness.ca editor Brian Jackson about joining us. Tell us what your core focus will be, what experience and expertise will inform that focus, and what type of voice you’ll be addressing the audience with.
