IT Business Group makes finals at publishing awards

Please join us in congratulating Computing Canada, EDGE and ITBusiness.ca for their nominations for Kenneth R. Wilson awards.

The prestigious KRWs, now in their 50th year, are handed out annually by the Canadian Business Press and recognize artistic and editorial excellence

in the nation’s top trade magazines and Web sites. The awards are named after the late business-to-business journalist Kenneth R. Wilson

“”Achieving ROI: Analytics unlock the secrets to ROI,”” by freelancer writer and frequent contributor Lynn Greiner, appeared in the November issue of Computing Canada. Greiner’s article addressed the growing importance of analytics applications in the enterprise using the Royal Bank of Canada as an example. Greiner and Computing Canada editor Patricia MacInnis have been nominated in the KRW’s Best Professional Article category.

ITBusiness.ca has received a nomination in the Best Web site category. ITBusiness.ca, which celebrated its third anniversary in March, is Canada’s source for daily industry news. The site is also the gateway to the online editions for each of the IT Business Group’s printed publications. Editor Shane Schick, Assistant Editor Neil Sutton, Staff Writer Fawzia Sheikh, Web Producer Mike Attenborough and Editorial Coordinator Fiona Carvalho share in the Best Web site nomination.

In the Best Art Direction category, the August 2003 issue of EDGE has been named as a nominee. EDGE, a monthly publication targeted at “”Executives in a Digital Global Economy,”” was relaunched in 2002 under the art direction of IT Business Group Art Director Lisa de Nikolits. She, along with former Assistant Editor Jennifer Brown (now Assistant Editor of Computing Canada), Editor Martin Slofstra and August cover artist Robert Carter, share the nomination.

The KRW awards will be handed out on June 7 at The Old Mill in Toronto in conjunction with the annual Mags University publishing conference.
